Senior Compliance Associate

JOB PURPOSE
As a member of Compliance at Post Advisory Group, the incumbent will be an integral member of the Compliance team ensuring that we maintain our compliance culture, that we meet regulatory requirements, and that we provide assurances for our clients that Post conducts its business in a manner that incorporates best practices and with the utmost integrity.

Reporting to the CCO, the Senior Compliance Associate collaborates with various Post constituencies across the platform inclusive of Post affiliates. The role’s primary focus is on compliance testing, regulatory filings, trading compliance, AML reporting, and generally working to support the overall compliance program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Completion of regulatory filings, including but not limited to Form ADV, Form D and Form PF
  • Ensuring overall compliance with the Investment Advisors Act
  • Participation in compliance testing, including transactional, periodic and forensic testing of compliance policies and procedures
  • Monitor investment and trading activity through Post’s OMS system (Charles River Development), ensuring trading conducted according to investment guidelines (back up for team)
  • Oversight of AML questionnaires and inquiries from clients, stakeholders and regulators
  • Responsible for KYC, OFAC and related questions and questionnaires
  • Chaperoning Expert Network calls
  • Support the administering of Post’s compliance policies, including the Code of Ethics; Gifts & Entertainment Policy, and Pay-to-Play Policy
  • Oversight of service providers, as it pertains to vendor compliance management
  • Maintain compliance calendar
  • Conduct best execution reviews and meetings

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree, minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge and experience with SEC regulations and laws; knowledge and experience with EU, UK or other international regulations a plus
  • Familiarity with Charles River Development and FIS Protegent a plus
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal, as well as highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized and resourceful problem solver
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, ability to multi-task, and excellent follow up skills
  • Confidentiality, discretion, integrity and diplomacy

COMPENSATION
We offer a competitive salary dependent on skill set and experience. This position includes an annual discretionary bonus tied to both firm performance and employee performance.

JOB PURPOSE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Research: Conduct high yield and leveraged loan fixed income research on assigned industries and maintain expert knowledge of relative value within and across those industries. Make buy, sell and hold recommendations to assist in meeting client investment needs. Present recommendations to Portfolio Managers and follow the investment approval process. Proactively pursue developments and opportunities for new products, clients and investment structures and/or types; recommend creative ideas and solutions as appropriate.
  • Industry Knowledge And Contacts. Maintain expert knowledge on assigned industries. Keep abreast of general economic and financial market trends. Proactively develop, foster and maintain positive relationships with a wide network of buy-side and sell-side analysts as well as other industry contacts to insure constant flow of up-to-the minute information.
  • Portfolio Monitoring. Maintain credit rating, outlook and relative value assessments of all current holdings within assigned industries. Ensure this information is kept current at all times and proactively inform Portfolio Managers of significant developments across all assigned industries and current holdings.
  • Projects. Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in finance, economics or accounting. At least 5 years of relevant buy-side / sell-side work experience required. High yield and leveraged loan experience preferred. Previous experience covering chemicals, energy, healthcare, industrials or metals & mining strongly preferred. Proven industry expertise and excellent time management skills are necessary. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Ability to operate effectively with a very high level of autonomy and self-direction is a must.

Success in this position requires the ability to make effective, well-informed decisions and recommendations in a highly time-sensitive environment, often with incomplete and/or contradictory information. Must have a high level of self-initiative and be comfortable taking educated risks.

This position may be subject to SEC restrictions on personal political contributions.
